ATP Off-Season Masterclass
Premierships are won in the Off-season
Strength - Power - Speed - Agile
Does this sound familiar?
The season finishes, you relax, enjoy the summer and before you know it pre-season rolls around and you realise you should have done some work to sharpen your skills, get a little faster, put on some size.
You get into the gym in the pre-season and before you know it you’re fatigued, tired and can’t maintain a full pre-season schedule with training and the gym.
Another pre-season goes by and you feel like you’re heading into season underdone.
Then it takes a few rounds to get into the swing of it and find you groove.
After another season you realise you still have a little more in the tank.
You know you can be better.
You have more to give.
You want to show your coaches that you deserve to play league, to get the votes, to win the top award.
It’s a never-ending feeling as an athlete.
Always knowing deep down that you can give a little more.
Whether you are a young Colt, or seasoned veteran.
We want the very best from ourselves.
The Off-Season
After the season we need to rest.
Give it a week or 2 and get back into some movement.
Keep it fresh, low intensity and enjoyable.
Then… The real work begins.
This is the opportunity to work on your weaknesses.
Push heavy weight, feel sore and get STRONG.
Run hard, drill in new techniques and get FASTER.
Eat good food, grind away and put on SIZE.
hear it from others…
I can confidently say I am the strongest and fittest I have ever been which is mainly attributed to Arthur's program. If one of the exercises listed I am unable to do due to a niggle or availability of equipment in the gym, Arthur is always helpful in selecting a new exercise to get get around this. Will be hitting Arthur up again this year to do me up an in season gym program to complement football on the weekends.
Jedd Bell (AFL)
Absolutely amazing programs and very professional, my guy Arthur is the best at what he does. ATP is such a great place to grow as a person!!
Phillip Gibaut (Basketball)
Arthur has helped me in the last 6 months to gain fitness and strength and has helped me recover from a shoulder injury. I have progressed so much and I look forward to continuing my program with him in the near future.
Ava Ward (Netball)
Strength is under-utilised and too many rely on their natural strength to carry them through.
But when you’re the strongest in the top age groups.
You’re often one of the weakest in the seniors.
Getting strong is the NUMBER 1 way you can stay on the field playing the sport you love.
See, getting strong not only makes you harder to tackle.
It also makes you harder to break.
Get injured I mean.
Scenario #1
You get injured.
You miss some games.
You’re underperforming because you’re not match-fit anymore.
Coaches forget about you and you don’t get selected in the representative teams.
The senior teams, league etc.
You miss your draft year… Heartbreak.
Scenario #2
You have a killer off-season with ATP and get strong AF.
All season you break tackles and run out games strong and feeling good.
There’s a tap on the shoulder from the league coach, you get the call up.
Selection in the representative sides.
Poll votes each week.
Best on ground, MVP.
Invited to the draft.
All because you took a chance to push yourself and get the very best out of your training.
And you chose to act, and prepare like a professional.
My name is Arthur, I’m the head coach, director and owner of ATP Performance Physiology.
And what we do at ATP, is athletic development.
This Off-Season is brought about through years of working in Rugby League, at the Force, South West Football League and years at senior WAFL level.
Each year finding ways to make athletes bigger, stronger, faster and BETTER!
From youth athletes finding their feet in the gym.
To senior WAFL veterans who are still performing at the top of their game.
I’ve coached athletes who have gone on to play in the AFL and MVP’s in their respected clubs and associations.
I do this not because I have a genuine passion for making people better.
It's an opportunity that I missed because this training wasn’t around when I was an up and coming athlete.
And I paid for it.
2 ACL reconstructions because I didn’t do the right training and didn’t know HOW to train like an athlete.
This is what ATHLETE need.
