-ABOUT ME-

ARTHUR (TIGA) PITT - ATP

Welcome to ATP Performance Physiology. Like any young Australian I had an overwhelming passion for the sports I played. In my case they were Rugby League and Baseball. I pursued my curiosity of human anatomy, physiology and biomechanics which led me to leave my home town of Port Hedland to study in Perth.

Focusing on my education I graduated with a Bachelors in Exercise and Health, and Sport Science at the end of 2016 from the University of Western Australia (UWA). With a few injuries of my own and gaining interest in rehabilitation, during my final year, I enrolled and soon graduated with a Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology from UWA in mid 2018. During that time I also obtained my Strength and conditioning Level 1 from the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA).

My Purpose

I'm now on a mission to give amateur athletes the professional guidance they need to take their performance to the next level.

I found a gap between semi-professional and pro sports not only in performance, but rehabilitation as well. Access to the right information and resources to unlock their hidden potential.

My Why

Don’t Make The Same Mistakes I Did.

Throughout my mid-teens growing up looking for that next level in athletic development, I was running laps and trying crash diets, trying ANYTHING to get to the next level in sports but having no real idea where I was going and how to get there.

Then there was the injury, receiving a pass out of a scrum tracking towards the sideline I turned to cut back infield and BANG! A life-changing full-thickness tear of my ACL in my right knee.

My career was over... at least I thought so.

I did the work, was feeling good (still misguided by limited 12-week physios) I jumped back onto the field to get back to playing the sport which I loved… And it happened again… 2x ACL surgeries on my right knee before I was 21.

Post second surgery Jan 2013

Why am I telling you this?... Because throughout my young career, I was lost, not with what I wanted to do or where I wanted to go, but in how to get there.

After I got injured, I didn’t have the support, the medical knowledge to help me through ALL stages of rehabilitation.

I never want this to happen to anybody.

I’ve spent 5 years at uni, 2 degrees later and lots of practical experience working on rehab + S&C to help athletes perform. I’ve got a burning fire in my gut to help athletes prevent making the same mistakes I did and help you get to the next stage in your career.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (Sport Science, Exercise & Health)

  • Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology

  • Australian Strength & Conditioning Association Level 1 Strength & Conditioning Coach

  • Level 2 Sports Trainer (NRL)

My Comeback

Using scientific research backed by professionals, industry leaders and what I learnt during my time at Uni, I rehabilitated myself back to health and I was able to compete in multiple NRL WA Harmony 9’s Rugby League Tournaments and even returned to play a full season 10-years after my first ACL.

It was a long journey and is something I continually work on to ensure not only my knee stays healthy, but the rest of my body as well.
